You need specific dos drivers to print on 'todays' printers from dos. Before you buy a printer, check the manufacturers website. One choice would be the DeskJet 648C, or any of the current 800 or 900 printers. True, the ADVANCED features don't work from within DOS, but PCL5c commands work great from within DOS.
